International Olympiad for Young Specialists in Rehabilitation

We would like to inform you about the upcoming International Olympiad in Rehabilitation Medicine for Students, which will be held on April 23–24, 2026, in Astana at NJSC “Astana Medical University”, located at 49A Beibitshilik Street.

Purpose of the Olympiad:
To support and develop students’ professional competencies, promote international exchange of experience, and enhance theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of medical rehabilitation.

Participants are invited from:

• students of medical universities and institutes (medicine, kinesitherapy, occupational therapy);

• interns / residents.

Master’s and doctoral students are not eligible to participate.

The Olympiad program includes:

• theoretical and practical competitive tasks;

• analysis of clinical cases;

• team and individual stages;

• assessment of professional and clinical competencies;

• awarding of winners and prize-winners.

Working languages of the Olympiad: Kazakh, Russian, English.

All participants will receive certificates of participation.
Winners and prize-winners will be awarded diplomas and commemorative prizes.

Participation procedure:
To participate in the Olympiad, it is necessary to complete the application form and send it to the following email address: rehab.and.sportmed@mail.ru

The application form is provided in the Appendix.

Application deadline: March 23, 2026.

After receiving the application, participants will be provided with additional information regarding the content and format of the Olympiad.

Stages of the Olympiad:
The Olympiad consists of three stages and includes:

• testing — assessment of participants’ theoretical knowledge;

• practical skills — completion of practical tasks at the simulation center and work with a standardized patient, with evaluation of clinical reasoning, practical and communication competencies;

• presentation of startups and innovative projects — presentation of ideas and projects in medical rehabilitation, evaluated based on innovation, clinical relevance, and practical feasibility.
